One fine day my "langotia" friend Shreyas called me. After exchanging few words of fun and some NV exclamations, he said , " Hmm.... Lets make a short film ". Boooommm !!!! My mind said YES !!!
One month later our sem holidays were awaiting us. I called all my friends who were there on my last movie making project and made their intro to Shreyas. What we had in our mind was to make a kind of film which is never usually made. I mean we knew that we were to experiment with our ideas. Shreyas introduces an epic thought that is to make the whole movie progress in the reverse direction , i mean the movie will run in backward direction !!!! This idea was inspired by the movie "Memento"
After a long discussion and few suggestions we finalized our story and then made a rough screenplay.
Now what we were going to face was a low budget film,having empty pockets to spend on.My friend Vishwadeep readily agreed to be the Producer of our film.Saying people that we have a "Producer" sounds exciting and cool :-) Yupps! We managed two "2CCD" cameras and now after finalizing our cast and crew we were all set to roll the cameras.
The 5 day shoot was over and we got our desired footage's . Now all set for editing the videos... The work was much tiring than what we had thought of. But we loved what we were doing and it kept us moving further.After plenty of sleepless night , we were ready with our first rough(draft) copy of "HooKeD". Then we started the last phase of editing ie "Dubbing". Thinking that the dubbing was very a easy process,this mere thought turned into our nightmare. It was damn too difficult to sync the dubbed voices with the real footage's. But we kept our hopes high and got some real satisfying and fairly awesome results.
"HooKeD" was now ready to be released. We sent our entry to IndiaFest Channel [V] and our film got selected among the top 15 movies across India. We were on cloud 9 when we received their call saying that we are invited to Goa and best thing was that they were sponsoring our travel and stay .
After the success at Goa , 'HooKeD' also won prizes in movie making competitions held at various Engineering colleges.Now our money box was ringing as we did win some decent cash over there and we are happy now as we have some cash to spend on our next project.
This was the behind the scenes of our short film "HooKeD" . I am very happy because young short filmmakers are getting good opportunities and platform to showcase their view's , ideas and innovative concept through their camera's .
